Free Energy:  Today we began solving various free energy problems using the natural variables and Maxwell relations.  There are often many ways to solve a particular problem; it is often possible to make a good guess at where to begin, but always remember that if you reach a dead end, all you need to do is go back to the beginning and try another starting point.  Being comfortable with the basic starting points will give you the tools necessary to manipulate those starting points however you need.
